Family provides more joy and pain than we ever could have thought possible.
It started with two people expressing their hope in the world by inviting a child into their lives. And then another, and another, and another, and another. Then reaching around the world for a sixth and across the country for a seventh.
When we were done, under our roof we had four boys, three girls, three races, two angels with Down syndrome and one with autism.
The nest starts to empty, first with the happy occasion of two back-to-back marriages. Then agonizingly with two back-to-back deaths from cancer. How do we go on?
That's what this blog is all about. Finding strength, meaning and courage as we go on.
