Had he lived, Joshua would have graduated from high school today.
A big day for any kid. A proud day for any parent. A momentous day for someone with Down syndrome.
Josh loved school. He loved to learn and he really loved the social life. Everyone knows Josh. Everyone was his friend.
We planned his graduation party years in advance. It would have been a blast.
We're going to graduation tonight anyway. We'll watch especially for the other kids from his special needs classes as they walk. We'll cry through the video they are playing in memory of Josh and several other students and a teacher who passed before this graduation day.
